Elementary Teacher

Category: Second Grade Teacher

Description: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help students fulfill their potential for Intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.

Requirements: Bachelors degree from accredited university

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of core academic subjects assigned

General Knowledge of curriculum & Instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Olfen ISD has a position open for a kitchen aide for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

 

Specific job requirements are:

  • Able to lift 40-50 pounds consistently
  • Able to tolerate freezer temperatures up to as low as -6 degrees
  • Can multitask as this is a very fast-paced job
  • Stock food items
  • Stays in compliance with government rules and regulations
  • Knows simple math
  • Can follow recipes, cooking measurements, etc
  • Able to work on feet all day long
  • Able to obtain (or already has) food handler’s permit
  • Practices clean habits (hand washing, etc)
  • Able to sweep and mop daily
  • Comfortable interacting with children
  • Able to pass background check
  • Must be a team player

Para-Professional Aide

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Hold or ability to obtain a valid Texas educational aide certificate

Experience and ability to work well with children

Ability to assist with classroom instruction

Effective verbal and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal skills

Proficient computer skills to develop spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing

 

Salary Schedule:

This is a 10-month position. Salary is based on the district salary schedule. All applicable state and local benefits apply.

Substitute Teachers

We are currently in need of individuals willing to serve as substitute teachers. Positions are on an as needed basis. Individuals interested in serving as a substitute must be able to pass a background investigation and be fingerprinted. The possibility of serving as a long term substitute this year is very real.
